The VA Healthcare Network Upstate New York at Syracuse intends to negotiate a sole source award to FORE Systems Inc., for Technical Support and Hardware Maintenance, known as the ForeMan 24x7 Strategic Response Package, on its mission-critical backbone computer networking equipment, switches, and accessories manufactured by FORE. The term will be for one year, from October 1998 through September 1999, subject to availability of FY 99 funds. The ForeMan Support program provides access to a full range of FORE Technical Support capabilities, including hardware repair or replacement parts service, and all software updates and upgrades, for a fixed annual fee. This notice of intent is not a request for proposals and no solicitation document is available. Interested parties shall submit information identifying clear and convincing documentation, including pricing, for like or similar services. Responses referencing #670-01-99 may be faxed to 315-477-4508 and must be received no later than 4 PM EST on August 25, 1998, to be considered. No telephone responses will be accepted. Responses to this notice will be used only for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
