Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM) is requesting information for the
following General Purpose Radio Remote (GPRR). This information
includes sources, contract vehicles, technical information and
approximate cost of government-off-the-shelf and
commercial-off-the-shelf products that can meet the requirements. NO
SOLICITATION EXISTS AT THIS TIME. This GPRR system will provide
improvements in remote communications capabilities for Command and
Control. The GPRR should be capable of supporting the establishment of
the main radio transmission and antenna site at a tactically and
technically sound location, while locating the tactical command element
in a better concealed and survivable location. The GPRR system shall
meet the following performance requirements and support: (1) Remote
both digital and analog (voice) radio transmissions a minimum of three
miles, via wire, fiber optic cable and/or wideband multichannel
receiver; (2) Support up to 5 users simultaneously; (3) Interface and
be compatible with all current and planned analog and digital,
encrypted and unencrypted, signals from HF, VHF, UHF, and EHF radio
systems operated by the USMC; (4) Interface with End User Computer
Equipment and Digital Computer Terminals; (5) Be capable of using DC,
AC, or vehicle power; and (6) Transportable by manpack, tactical
vehicle, aircraft, or ship and easily lifted by one Marine. This
request is for information only. This inquiry is intended to identify
likely commercial products that will fill all or part of the
requirements of a GPRR system and obtain a summary of each product's
capabilities. As industry may expect to see portions of submitted
information in future solicitations, no proprietary information may be
submitted. Based upon Standard Industrial Classification Code (SIC)
3714, 750 employees, interested sources should also provide information
on their business size (i.e. large, small, 8(a), small disadvantaged or
