Commander Naval Special Warfare Group ONE, intends to issue a sole source purchase order to U.S. Calvary for reversable rainsuits. These are necessary for tactical operations in desert environments. The justifying the lack of competition is that U.S. Calavary's rainsuits are the only rainsuits tha meet the Government's minimum need. The salient characteristics ot the rainsuits are that they are made of desert camouflage pattern and of reversible type featuring "Day to Night Desert" versatility from one side to the other. The suits shall offer waterproof and windproof protection. All seams shall be sewn with a minimum strength of double chain interlocking stitches. The suits shall be of front entry design to include heavy-duty zipper closure, with snap-close storm flap in the middle of suits from top to bottom. The suits shall be made with adjustable cuffs. The suits shall contain tie-down style hoodstraps to conceal oppsite camouflage. The waist shall be laced with drawstrings for quick adjustment. for complete description of these specifications, you may request a copy of the request for quote (RFQ). Commercial procedures as outlined in FAR Part 12 and in conjunction with FAR 13 is applicable. The Request for Quotation will be issued on 08/14/98. The closing date is 08/31/98. The proposed contract action is for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302, Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit quotes. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, all quotations received by the closing date of the Request for Quotation set forth above will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with proposed contract based upon response to this notice is solely within the discretion of th Government.
