99 -- FARE MEDIA SOL 263-98-P(GQ)-0032 DUE 082698 POC Dorothy NIckens, (301) 496-0301, Fax # (301) 402-3407 The National Institutes of Health intends to negotiate on a sole-source basis, a contract to provide Fare Media (metrorail farecards, metrochecks, and metrobus tokens) with the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA). This action is taken under the authority of 41 USC 253 (c) (1) FAR 6.302-5. NIH believes that the above reference firm is the only source that can provide this requirement. The WMATA is the sole issuer of the fare media to be obtained on this proposed acquisition. The contract shall be for one year with four twelve-month option periods and shall be effective on or before August 1, 1999. Any other firm that feels they are qualified to provide such services must submit by the response date (15 calendar days from date of this publication) a detailed capability statement documenting their ability to provide this service by meeting the requirement stated above. Information furnished shall include enough material to perform a proper evaluation. Respondents will not be notified ofthe evaluation results.
