Stair demolition work will consist primarily of the complete removal of the floor slabs on the upper and lower levels, the concrete walk, the existing stairs, and rails. A new stair is to be installed outside the building from the ground to the lower level. An interior vertical platform is to be installed to transport persons and equipment from the lower level to the ground floor. Piping located in the ceiling of the basement is to be rerouted around the new lift. The existing basement electrical panel shall be replaced and telephone conduit installed for service to a telephone in the lift (telephone service connection is not part of this project). The estimated price is expected to be between $25,000 and $100,000. The Standard Industrial Classification code is 1796.
