Road,Mail Stop 285, Menlo Park, CA 94025-3591 66 -- MAGNETOTELLURIC (MT) SURVEY SYSTEM SOL 98WRQQ1034 DUE 083198 POC
Contact Sonya Baird, Contracting Officer, (650) 329-4168 The U. S.
Geological Survey intends to negotiate a contract with Electromanetic
Instruments, Inc. (EMI), 1301 South 46th Street, UCRFS, Bldg. 300,
Richmond, CA 94804 to provide a portable magnetotelluric (MT) survey
system consisting of the following: 2 ea. 2-Channel Field Acquisition
Modules (P/N FAM-2), 1 ea. 3-Channel Field Acquisition Module (P/N
FAM-3), 2 ea. Magnetic Field Sensor-0.01-20k Hz (P/N BG-10/HF), 1 ea.
Control/Storage Unit (CSU), 1 ea. GPS, 2 ea. Chargers for FAM-2 (P/N
BFPSCH), 8 ea. Electrodes, CuCuSO (P/N ELF-1), 1 ea. System Computer,
Pentium Laptop with waterproof case (P/N SC-5), 3 ea. SC-5 and CSU
Power Supply w/Chargers(P/N P33C), 6 ea. Cable, MT24 Telemetry-100
meters (P/N C21/100), 1 ea. Cable, MT24 Telemetry-10 meters (P/N
C21/10), 2 ea. Cable, Junction for C21/100 (P/N C21/JUNC), 12 ea. Cable
Dipole-50 meters (P/N C51.50), 3 ea. Cable, BF-10 to FAM-3 (P/N
C23/30), and 1 ea. Acquisition Software (P/N SW-ACQ24). EMI is the only
known source who can provide the following unique requirements; (1) use
of an external IBM compatible PC with open-software to control data
acquisition and process time-series date in real time, (2) modular
design to allow reconfiguration for various survey modes which allows
incorporation of technological advances and configuration for new
applications, (3) use of a hardware and software 24-bit A/D, 256
channel, synchronized, MT array data acqusition at selectable MT
frequencies and bandwidths which provides rapid, accurate, and
continuous profiling, (4) portability, (5) EMI is the developer and the
only known manufacturer of underground tensor electromagnetic sources
to supplement AMT signals when natural signals are low to noisy.
