The Naval Air Systems Command intends to negotiate a firm fixed price order under Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) N00019-98-G-0035 with the McDonnell Douglas Corporation. The McDonnell Douglas Corporation is the designer, developer and sole manufacturer of the F/A-18 aircraft and, as such, the only firm possessing the requisite technical knowledge and expertise, facilities, tooling and special test equipment necessary to perform these efforts within the required timeframe.
