Palmore (202) 433-5313 The work includes all labor and materials for
the design, procurement, fabrication, assembly, testing, packaging and
delivery of twelve (12) NEMA 4x watertight 316L stainless steel
junction boxes, with panels mounted on studs. The junction boxes shall
be 36'' long x 24" wide x 7" deep in overall outer dimensions. The
boxes shall be hinged along one longitudinal axis. There shall be an
appropriate number of stainless steel (grade 316) quick release latches
on the other longitudinal axis and the top and bottom of the box in
order to maintain NEMA 4x water-tightness. The latches shall have a
maximum travel of " laterally. The boxes shall have knock-outs in the
enclosures. The actual diameters of the holes will be 1.375", 1.125"
and 0.875", based on cable sizes of 1.0, .75" and 0.5" respectively.
The boxes shall have two mounting feet attached along each of the 24"
sides of the boxes. Each junction box shall be identified by a 4" by 4"
nameplate. All nameplates shall be black phenolic engraved through to
white background. Letters shall be a minimum of 2" high. Nameplates
shall be secured to the junction box covers with stainless steel screws
or compatible. Nameplates shall be labeled sequentially from GJB-1 to
GJB-12. Requests for the solicitation may be mailed to Naval Facilities

218, 901 M Street, SE, Washington, DC 20374-5063 or sent via facsimile
by using (202) 433-5244. Contractors within the local area are
encouraged to prearrange, by contacting the contract specialist noted
above, to pick up a copy of the solicitation at Bldg 218 (third floor)
of the WNY between the hours of 0730 and 1500, Monday-Friday. There
will be no charge for these documents, however, there will only be one
set issued per contractor. The solicitation will be available
approximately fifteen (15) days after this notice appears in the
Commerce Business Daily. The proposal due date shall be fifteen (15)
days after the solicitation is made available to the public. The
projected award date is September 1998. Proposals should be submitted
to the Naval Facilities Engineering Command Contracts Office
