59 -- SOLE SOURCE: POWERED OPTICS FOR TEST UNDER MILITARY OPERATIONS URBAN TERRAIN -- ADVANCED CONCEPT TECHNOLOGY DEMONSTRATION (MOUT -- ACTD) SOL w13g07-8226-1002 POC Purchasing Agent JEFFREY BALDWIN (Site Code DAAN02) SOLE SOURCE: The U.S. Army Soldier System Command (SSCOM) has a requirement to test specific Powered Optics for various types of weapons for potential inclusion in the joint Army/Marine Corp -- Military Operations in Urban Terrain -- Advanced Concept Technology Demonstration (MOUT ACTD) Program. The Powered Optics being tested have been chosen, after careful consideration of available Powered Optics in the marketplace, because of their expected capability to meet certain MOUT-unique performance requirements. Items that potentially meet the Powered Optics, MOUT ACTD Requirement No. 2 (R2) as described at the MOUT ACTD Web Site: "yorktown.dc.isx.com/mout/index.html" will be evaluated in a small quantity (1 unit) during a Product Demonstration (PD) at Camp Lejeune NC early October, 1998 and possibly in larger quantities (up to 6 units) during USMC Experiment No. 3 in January, 1999.
