Brown, Contract Specialist, (202) 324-5286 This is a combined synopsis/soliciation for commerical items prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals/bids are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation documents and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 97-6. This solicitation is under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) and is a 100% set aside for Small Business. The Standard Industrial Classification Code is 3563 and the Business Size Standard is 500 employees. The contract is a Firm-Fixed Price, "Brand Name or Equal" solicitation for one (1) Bauer Model DDTR26 -- E3/D Dual Drive Trailer System, 30HP Lister model TS3 air cooled diesel engine with the following minimum salient characteristics: Dual drive trailer system consisting of K180 compressor; P5 securus purification powered by a 30HP Lister Model TS3 air-cooled diesel engine; Tandem axle; enclosed cargo body with side and rear lockable doors; appropriate lighting; shelving or other storage; color-dark blue; size: 16' of cargo body, maximum exterior width 96"; minimum interior height 84"; weight GVW= 7,000 -- 8,000 lbs.; tongue weight = 10% of GVW -- The above listed characteristics are intended to be descriptive, but not restrictive. Unless clearly marked that the vendor is quoting on an "equal" the offered item shall be considered as the brand name product referenced in the announcement. If the vendor proposes to furnish an "equal" product, the brand name, if any, of the product to be as to equality of the product shall be the responsibility of the Government and will be based on information furnished by the vendor. The purchasing activity is not responsible for locating or securing any information which is not identified in the quotation and reasonably available to the purchasing activity. To ensure thatsufficient information is available the vendor must furnish as a part of his quotation all descriptive material (such as cuts, illustrations, drawings, or other information) necessary for purchasing activity to determine whether the product meets the salient characteristics of the requirement.
