COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF AUGUST 24,1998 PSA#2165SP -- POSTING OF SOLICITATIONS AND RELATED DOCUMENTS ON GSA'S
ELECTRONIC POSTING SYSTEM The General Services Administration (GSA) is
among five agencies participating in a pilot program to post
solicitations and related documents on the Internet. This program,
known as the Electronic Posting System (EPS), is intended to enhance
public access to the Federal Government_s business opportunities by
providing on-line access 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Postings
may be viewed grouped by all participating agencies, grouped by each
participating agency, or grouped by participating sub elements of each
agency. Additional search and sorting capabilities allow perspective
offerors to retrieve documents based on classification code or posted
date. A functional part of EPS is its Acquisition Notification Services
which provides automated e-mail notification of new postings to
registered parties. The Acquisition Notification Service features
on-line registration that may be configured by the registrant so as to
provide e-mail notification limited by product classification or
organization. As a major element of GSA, the Federal Supply Service
(FSS) shall actively participate in the EPS pilot program. We intend to
increase the number of solicitations posted on EPS and decrease the
number of paper solicitations issued. Some solicitations will be issued
only in an electronic format. The Uniform Resource Locator (URL)
address for EPS is http://eps.arnet.gov. Once at this URL, select the
path _EPS for vendors._ Registration for e-mail notification is then
accomplished through the _Acquisition Notification Service_ link at the
top of the page. WEB: Visit this URL for the latest information about
this,
