Y -- MAINTENANCE DREDGING, 33-FOOT PROJECT, PALM BEACH HARBOR, FLORIDA SOL DACW17-98-B-0029 DUE 102798 POC Contract Specialist Robert Mosteller (904) 232-3739 (Site Code DACW17) Palm Beach Harbor Maintenance Dredging will consist of dredging approximately 95,000 cubic yards of material from the Palm Beach Entrance Channel, Settling Basin, and Cuts 1 and 2. Base Bid includes dredging approximately 55,000 cubic yards of material with disposal at the Palm Beach Harbor Disposal Area is located adjacent to the south jetty and extends southerly approximately 3,130 feet. (Construction time for the Base Bid work is 60 calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed and includes mobilization and demobilization.) Option Bid work includes dredging approximately 40,000 cubic yards of material with disposal at the Midtown Beach Disposal Area is located approximately 25,000 feet south of the inlet. (Construction time for the Option Bid work is an additional 25 calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed and includes additional mobilization and demobilization.) Method of dredging is restricted to hopper or cutter suction dredges. Base Bid and Option Bid work will also include turbidity monitoring and endangered species observer/monitoring. THE CONTRACTOR IS ADVISED THAT WORK UNDER THIS CONTRACT WILL BE CONDUCTED DURING THE WINTER SEASON (DECEMBER THROUGH MARCH) AND THAT WAVE CONDITIONS OF THREE FEET OR HIGHER MAY BE EXPECTED A MAJORITY OF TIME. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL FURNISH PLANT AND EQUIPMENT THAT CAN ACCOMPLISH WORK WITHIN THE TIME SPECIFIED UNDER EXPECTED WAVE ENVIRONMENT SPECIFIED.
