Computer Sciences Corporation plans to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) on a sole source basis for Hardware and Software Maintenance support on the Bay Networks Routers located at various sites throughout the NISN Gateways that GSFC maintains per the attached RFP which includes sections A-M. Period of Performance shall be 10/1/98 through 9/30/99. Computer Sciences Corporation intends to purchase this Hardware and Software Maintenance from Bay Networks in accordance with FAR Part 12 . Interested firms have fifteen (15) days from the publication of this synopsis/solicitation to submit in writing to the identified point of contact, their qualifications/capabilities and offers. Such qualifications/capabilities and offers will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Responses received after the fifteen days or without the required information will be considered nonresponsive to the synopsis/solicitation and will not be considered. A determination by the Computer Sciences Corporation to not compete this proposed effort on a full and open cost competitive basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Computer Sciences Corporation. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested per the attached Request for Proposal (RFP) and are located in the attached Word 6.0 file and includes complete description of the types of maintenance, locations, SOW, Equipment List, and all contractual language to perform this Maintenance.
