Dreger, Contracting Officer, (850)234-4863 The Coastal Systems Station, Dahlgren Division, NSWC, Panama City, FL intends to award a sole source Purchase Order to General Systems Solutions, Panama City, FL for the repair of the KA-16B Navigation Equipment. The KA-16B is a unique piece of equipment which is under the control of General Systems Solutions. The fleet is now in a critical stage that if repairs to the KA-16B are not completed the AMCM mission will be grounded. The AMCM is the system that navigates the AMCM helicopters through minefield search patterns. Due to the age and uniqueness of the KA-16B system, it would not be cost effective to bring in a new contractor that would take an excessive amount of time to bring them up to the knowledge and experience General Systems Solutions already has and this is a time critical repair.
