REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ON INSPECTION SERVICES FOR THE INSTALLATION OF COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEMS Contact Denise Howard, Contracting Officer, E&I Services Contracting Branch, (405) 734-7364 FAX (405) 734-7376. The 38 EIW seeks input and information from industry regarding the availability of inspection services to ensure that communications systems and associated minor construction are engineered, furnished, installed and tested in compliance with specifications. The communications systems may include outside and inside plant cable distribution, flight facility systems, RF communications systems, network systems, switching systems and security systems. The inspection services may involve inspection of services, materials, installation, construction, and/or engineering. The 38 EIW specifically seeks information such as: (1) Identification of existing contracts or schedules suitable for use to acquire inspection services in the above listed areas. Indicate point of contact and telephone number for each such contract. (2) Extent of experience in providing inspection services for the above listed areas. Indicate whether experience was under commercial/private contract, State or local Government contract, or Federal Government contract. If Federal, identify contract number, point of contact, telephone number and whether contract was Non-Personal Services, Advisory and Assistance Services, or some other contract classification. (3) Alternative processes used to standard inspection in the above listed areas by a third party inspector and experience in providing such services. (4) Experience in applying ISO 9000 or other internal quality control measures as an installation contractor in the above listed areas. (5) Other information which may assist the 38 EIW in further defining a potential requirement for inspection services of communications systems, including any pitfalls or areas of concern. Please note this is not a Request for Proposal (RFP) and should not be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation and ultimately award a contract. No funding will be provided.
