This requirement is for PPC VME boards which are required to support pre-Strategic Systems Programs Alteration (SPALT) and post-SPALT MK 98 Mod 4/5 Fire Control System software development. This hardware is the representative of the MK98 Mode 4/5 FCS being deployed, and is essential in supporting the Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile (SLBM) mission critical actives in support of Strategic Retargeting System (SRS) and Life Cycle Cost Control (LC3) initiative. The Power 4G-200-129 PowerPC (PPC) Versa Module Eurocard (VME) boards and related board support package (BSP) is in support of the advanced development effort of the MK 98 Mod 4 (US) and MK 98 Mode 5 (UK) Trident II Fire Control System (FCS) software.. This type of VME board is a custom design manufactured solely by VI Computer Inc. For the Strategic Systems Programs (SSP, for the MK98 Mode 4/5 FCS program. The required product is a representative of the SLBM fleet hardware being deployed in FY02 and is currently being produced under a limited projection run.
