R -- ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT AREA SERVICES -- LEGAL COMMUNICATIONS CENTER POC Contact Contract Specialist Janice Johnson, 202-326-4160 Ext. 6859 / Contracting Officer, Robert Herting The Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation ( PBGC) seeks to increase the maximum hours and staff under Option Years One and Two of an existing contract for the operation and management of the Office of General Counsel's (OGC) Communications Center. The additional staff and labor hours for Option Year One and the additional managerial hours for Option Years One and Two are necessary in order to reorganize more than 700 existing hard copy files and to transfer the related electronic entries in OGC computerized legal case management system. The current contract includes, but is not limited to, file organization, maintenance, mailroom and docketing services. This contract was awarded competitively based on, among other criteria, the contractor's prior experience in a law office or corporate legal environment. In view of the contractor's knowledge and understanding of the scope of work, the organization of the Communications Center and the operation of the computerized legal case management and the information system, it is in the best interest of the PBGC for the current provider to complete this work by increasing the labor hours and staff under the existing contract. This increase under the existing contract will ensure continuity in the work, major completion by September 30, 1999, and accuracy in execution. This is not a request for proposal. See Note 22.
