The Human Effectiveness Directorate of the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL/HE) at Wright-Patterson AFB has a requirement to develop and integrate Helmet Mounted Sensory Technology (HMST) components and high off-boresite angle (HOBA) missiles into the F-15C aircraft at Nellis Air Force Base. The Air Force intends to contract with AVTECH Research Corporation, Nevada for the required modification, operation, and maintenance efforts. This sole source award is necessary to avoid impacting the mission of the 422 Test and Evaluation (TES) Squadron. The estimated contract ceiling cost is $292k and the period of performance will be from 01 Nov 98 to 31 Oct 99. The technical support efforts include: (a) preparation of HMST equipment prior to and after each sortie, (b) maintenance and troubleshooting, (c) configure HOBA captive-carry missile seekers prior to sorties scheduled, (d) coordinate configurations control for Merlin, RFMDS, and Firefly data collection systems, and (f) support the reduction and transmission of data back to AFRL.
