E-MAIL: Jack E. Massey, Jack.Massey-1@ksc.nasa.gov. NASA/KSC plans to issue a IFB/ Request for Offers for Construct Replace Feeder 606 to Switchstation 900. The scope of work consists of removing existing lead PILC 15kV cable and replacing it with 15kV EPR cable. The work also requires re-circuit of a 13.8kV feeder to transformer SS-1143 and replacement of an existing 4-way oil switch with a Government provided SF6 switch. The contract will include 3 Options. The first option is for construction of a 4-way duct bank. The second option is for construction of a 6-way duct bank. The third option is for removal and recycling of up to 27,600 feet of PILC. The order of magnitude for the procurement is between $500,000 and $1,000,000 and the effort shall be completed within 540 calendar days after notice to proceed. This procurement is part of the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. The SIC Code and small business size standard for this procurement are 1731 and 7.0 million, respectively. The anticipated release date of the IFB/RFO is on or about October 1, 1998 with an anticipated offer closing date of on or about November 2, 1998.
