The Social Security Administration intends to negotiate solely with TACT Software, 84 West Park Place, Stamford, CT 06901 for the purchase of a second license/copy of DB- EXREORG software to be installed on a Hitachi GX8824 mainframe system located at the Social Security Administration (SSA), National Computer Center, 6201 Security Blvd., Baltimore, MD 21235. SSA uses the TACT Software to reorganize its IDMS data bases without incurring additional production data base unavailability in that it has the following functionality requirements: 1) allow execution before, during, and after the restructure and/or unload/reload process; 2) take an in-flight backup of affected area(s) while production remains up; 3) perform reorganization against a copy while production remains up; 4) feed the off-loaded journals into a "catch- up" process that analyses the off-loaded journals and issues the required DML against the reorganized database until all journals are processed; 5) be compatible with CA- IDMS release 10.2, 12.x and 14.x; 6) operate in the IBM MVS operating environment; 7) not restrict parallel sysplex processing; 8) reorganize CA-IDMS SQL and non-SQL databases while available to end-users for retrieval and update; 9) be Year 2000 compliant; and 10) include full documentation and technical support.
