This is a combined synopsis/request for quotation number SSA-RFQ-98-3686 for commercial items prepared in accordance with FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. THIS IS THE ONLY ANNOUNCEMENT. A SEPARATE WRITTEN REQUEST FOR QUOTATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. All responsible business sources may submit a quotation which shall be considered by the agency. The standard industrial classification (SIC) code for this acquisition is 2541. The small business size standard is 500 employees. This request for quotation and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Acquisition Circular 97- 05. Quotations in response to this RFQ shall be submitted by September 23, 1998, 1:00 p.m. EST, addressed to the Social Security Administration, Office of Acquisition and Grants, Attn: Elaine L. Davis, 1710 Gwynn Oak Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21207, or faxed to (410) 966-9310. REQUIREMENT: Garment Racks, Quartet Model QRT-21225 or equal, 750 each with the following salient characteristics: Contemporary, radius-design. Perforated shelves ventilate garments; 3" hanger spacing; 12 hanger capacity to include 12 standard size hangers; adjustable leveling glides; powder coated textured steel; single-sided racks; top storage shelf, bottom shelf for boots and attachable rack to hold three umbrellas. Dimensions 18 1/2"D x 62 1/2"H, 36" Wide, color putty. Delivery shall be made FOB Destination to Social Security Administration, Baltimore, MD 21235. The following provisions at FAR 52.121-1, Instruction to Offerors -Commercial Items, APR (1998) (tailored) apply to this acquisition: (b)(1) (b)(9), (b) (11), (c), (g) and (h). There are no addendums to these provisions. The provisions at FAR Part 52.212-2, Evaluation Commercial Items (tailored) apply to this acquisition: (a) and (c). The government will award a contract resulting from this request for quotation to the responsible quote or whose quote conforming to the quotation will be most advantageous to the Government price and other factors considered. The following factors shall be used to evaluate quotes: technical capability of the item offered to meet the Government's requirement as described above (see FAR 52.212- 1(b)(4))(a technical description of the item being offered in sufficient detail to evaluate compliance with the requirements in the solicitation. This may include product literature or other documents if necessary) and price. A written notice of award or acceptance of a quote mailed or otherwise furnished to the successful quoter within the time for acceptance specified in the quote, shall result in a binding contract without further action by either party. Before the quote's specified expiration time, the Government may accept a quote or part of a quote, whether or not there are negotiations after its receipt, unless a written notice of withdrawal is received before award. Quoters are advised to include a completed copy of the provisions FAR Part 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications Commercial Items, with their quote. The provisions at FAR Part 52.212-4, Contract Terms and ConditionsCommercial Items apply to this acquisition, with the exception of (h) and (n). There are no addendums to these provisions.
