(217)-431-6538 Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Danville, Illinois is
seeking an architect/engineering firm to prepare 100% complete
construction drawings and specifications and shall provide construction
period services for projects #550-99-106, Renovations for Realignment
of Ambulatory Care, Bldg. 98, and #550-99-107, Upgrade
Lobbies/Entrances for Ambulatory Care, Bldgs. 98, 101, and 103. Project
design work will include: renovation of existing space in Bldg. 98 for
expansion and relocation of Ambulatory Care functions. Preliminary
design concept objectives include renovations for new nurse station,
minimum of six new exam rooms, new x-ray suite, new restroom
facilities, and new waiting areas; renovation of front and south
entrances of Bldg. 98, the front entrance of Bldg. 103, and front
entrance/patio of Bldg. 101; for Bldg. 98, a new circle drive, covered
walkway, a veteran's memorial area, and landscaping will be required
at front entrance; south entrance will be renovated to include a new
admissions area and a sunroom-type enclosure for additional waiting
area seating; front entrance of Bldg. 103 will be renovated to provide
additional waiting area seating and an information/admissions area for
the Mental Health Outpatient Clinics; front entrance/patio of Bldg. 101
will have a new canopy installed over entrance and existing front
patio; lead paint and asbestos abatement shall be included in the
design, if their presence dictates removal/containment. The proposed
A/E design contract is unrestricted and competitive negotiations shall
be used to award contract. The geographical limitation for
consideration is within a 150-mile radius of the city limits of
Danville, Illinois. Requests from offerors located outside the
geographical area shall not be honored. The estimated cost range of the
construction project that shall follow is between $500,000 and
$1,000,000. All work under this contract, exclusive of Government
review time, shall be completed within 200 calendar days. The following
evaluation factors shall be used in the source selection process to
identify the most highly qualified sources: a) specialized experience
and technical competence in the type of work to be performed; b)
specific experience and qualifications of personnel proposed for
assignment to the project and record of working together as a team; c)
professional capacity of the firm in the designated geographic areas
to perform the work within time limitations; d) past record of
performance on contracts with the Department of Veterans Affairs; e)
geographic location and facilities of the working office which would
provide the professional services and familiarity with the area in
which the project is located; f) demonstrate success in cost effective
design and achieving energy efficiency in facility design and in
meeting design schedules and construction cost limitations; g)
demonstrate quality of design and technical services provided on other
similar projects. Interested offerors shall submit two copies of
Standard Form 254, Architect-Engineer and Related Services
Questionnaire, and Standard Form 255, Architect-Engineer and Related
