NASA/GSFC plans to issue a Request for Offer (RFO) for the mechanical system restoration or building 22 at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD. The order of magnitude for the procurement is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000 and the effort shall be completed within 365 calendar days after notice to proceed. The anticipated release date of the RFO is on or about October 15, 1998 with an anticipated offer closing date of on or about November 15, 1998. The provisions and clauses in the solicitation are those in effect through FAC 97-6. The firm date for receipt of proposals will be stated in the RFO. Potential offerors may request a copy of the solicitation by faxing or mailing a written request to the contracting officer assigned to this procurement. E-mail requests will also be honored (no phone requests please). Drawings will be available from the Procurement Office (Code 212) for a charge of $100, payable only by certified check or money order addressed to "U.S. Treasury" -- cash, company checks, and credit card payments are not acceptable. Drawings may also be viewed at the offices of any of our plan holders (which will be posted on our WWW address), and included in the solicitation. All responsible qualified sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See Internet Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement [with the exception of specifications and drawings] will be available over the Internet. These documents will be in Microsoft Office Suite (Word 6.0, Excel 5.0, or PowerPoint 4.0) format and will reside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
