Arsenal, anticipates soliciting under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, a
sole source requirement with Primex Technologies, located at 10101
Ninth Street North, St. Petersburg, FL 33716. This will be a firm fixed
priced requirement to produce a 120mm Advanced Tungsten Armor Piercing,
Fin Stabilized, Discarding Sabot (APFSDS) tank cartridge on behalf of
the Arab Republic of Egypt. The requirement will include delivery of
590 qualification cartridges and subsequent delivery of 10,194
production and test cartridges. This solicitation supports Foreign
Military Sales (FMS) Letter of Offer and Acceptance (LOA) EG-B-URU.
Reference market survey published on May 12, 1998. This acquisition
requires the use of a previously manufactured and tested configuration
and if the design uses US Army technology, acquired from Rheinmetall
under license, the contractor must have appropriate permission from
Rheinmetall to utilize 120mm technology on a non-Type Classified
cartridge. If the design includes technology not covered by this,
permission to use this technology for export to Egypt is required.
Additionally, contractor must have secret clearance. Anticipated
