Must have a certified fire protection engineer on staff. The project will consist of sprinklering the VAMC. The Medical Center consist of 4 main buildings and 3 out buildings. Approximately 65 percent of the 1 million plus square feet facility is currently sprinklered. The A/E will also need to evaluate the following: (1) Fire Pumping System for capacity and supply volume available (2) Retrofitting areas with quick response heads (3) connecting to a new not yet installed fire alarm system. Coordination with designer and warranty onwer will be required. Must be certified fire protection engineer. The system must meet all NFPA/JCAHO codes and VA guidelines. The VAMC Atlanta is a 300 bed tertiary care facility with a 100 bed nursing home unit. The VA is a 12 story structure that was constructed in the 1960. This is subject to availability of funds.
