COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF OCTOBER 14,1998 PSA#2200PTAP SEMINARS Best Accounting Practices for Government Contractors
Wednesday October 14, 1998, 6:30 pm-9:30 pm. This seminar is designed
for the new business owner and his/her accountant. Emphasis is on
setting up the necessary accounting system that will meet (1) the
business's managerial needs as it grows and (2) the Government's
requirements and expectations. Main topics will include cost accounting
structure alternatives and options, the chart of accounts, indirect
cost structures and rates, accounting for particular types of costs,
and common problem areas and how to avoid them. The discussion leader,
David L. Cotton, CPA, CFE, is managing partner of Cotton & Company,
Certified Public Accountants. Sales and Marketing of GSA Schedule
Contracts Wednesday October 21, 1998, 6:30 pm-9:30 pm. This seminar
will address many issues involved in working with GSA schedules. Areas
covered in the discussion will include GSA schedule negotiation,
teaming arrangements with other GSA schedule contractors, creating
contract opportunities using GSA schedule contracts and blanket
purchase agreements, and GSA schedule trends in the government and
businesses. The instructor for this seminar will be Roxanne H.
Dobrynski, GSA Schedule Specialist from Federal Schedules Incorporated.

Federal Government Request for Proposal, guide the student throughout
the steps required to understand the RFP, prepare and submit a
compliant and winning proposal. This course is being presented by
