qualified small businesses which may be able to provide the Marine
Corps with Kenwood UHF radios, clip microphones and earpieces, and
carrying cases. A combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items
has been prepared in accordance with Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with
additional information included in this notice. This announcement
constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a
written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation M67854-99-R-2024
is being issued as a Request for Proposal. This solicitation document
incorporates Provisions and Clauses that are in effect through Federal
Acquisition Circular #97-06. In accordance with FAR Provision
52.212-2, the Government will award a contract resulting from this
solicitation to the responsible offeror whose offer conforming to the
solicitation will be most advantageous to the Government, price,
ability to meet product specifications and time to delivery considered.
This procurement is 100% set-aside for Small Business and the Standard
Industrial Classification Code (SIC) is 3669. The size standard is 750
employees. Contract line items are as follows: CLIN 0001: 400/each
Ultra High Frequency (UHF) Transceiver (Kenwood Free Talk/UBZ-LF-14B)
(Brand Name Only) CLIN 0002: 400/each Clip Microphone and Earpiece to
be used with The Kenwood Free Talk with the following specifications:
boom microphone, ear-bud receiver, integrated push-to-talk switch which
has an alligator clip to positively secure it to a Marine's lapel (once
placed by the individual Marine, the microphone and ear bud receiver
must remain in position while being worn by the Marine during combat
conditions.) The ear bud should have an adjustable ear hook to keep it
in contact with the ear. The connecting cord should be no longer than
18" and not encumber the normal movement of the Marine's head. CLIN
0003: 400/each Carrying Case for the Kenwood Free Talk (Kenwood
USC-4B), Olive Drab in color (Brand Name or Equal) Delivery of the 400
radios, microphone and earpieces, and carrying cases shall be no later
than 04 December 1998 to the following location. Partial deliveries
