The item to procure is a General Mechanics Tool Kit (GMTK), NSN 5180-01-454-3787. The GMTK consists of a tool chest containing approximately 130 common automotive mechanic hand tools (i.e., sockets, ratchets, screwdrivers, hammers, pliers, etc.). Requirements are 200 each GMTK. The RFQ was issued on 17 Sep 98 and had two subsequent amendments. A third amendment will be issued approximately 30 Oct 98 which will request initial and revised quotes for the GMTK. All parties are eligible to submit quotes, whether or not a quote was submitted previously. Initial and revised quotes will be due on or about 20 Nov 98. All parties submitting quotes must acknowledge each and every amendment prior to the date and time set for receipt of quotes. The solicitation and amendments were issued electronically in accordance with FAR 4.510, 5.102(a)(7) and 14.205-1(c). Therefore, hard copies will not be provided.
