Washington, DC 20037-1174 during the week of 11/11 thru 11/14/98 in San Diego. This conference is the only seminar in the United States where private health insurers, state and federal law enforcement officers can meet jointly for proactive stances in the fight against Health Care Fraud (HCF) and provide an information-sharing network. This seminar is open to all private health insurers and investigators and will cover topics such as: a). Fraud Schemes & Indicators -- new schemes in durable medical equipment fraud, cost report audits as a tool in criminal fraud investigations, fraud by billing services, mental health fraud, employer-group fraud & related topics, home health care fraud b). Technology Trends -- current trends in computer crime, investigative resources on the Internet, how to gather computer evidence, electronic evidence & judicial proceedings, health care fraud and the electronic frontier, protecting & using the electronic claim, c). Investigative Techniques -- asset protection remedies in health care fraud cases, d). Legal Aspects -- private citizens suing on behalf of the Government, etc. This is considered a commercial service. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals.
