Officer, sstevens@rdc.uscg.mil. The U.S. Coast Guard Research and
Development Center seeks to identify responsible sources and obtain
information inregard to availability of commercially available
biodegradable oranges. Seven (7) tons of biodegradable oranges
(approximately 37,300 oranges) will be used as a target during
oceanographic research exercises off the coast of Gaveston, Texas on or
about Arpil of 1999. Oranges would be shipped to a located in Galveston
Texas and must be prepared in one (1) ton containers for quick release
by a ship (batch dump) into the waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Oranges
to not have to be edible but they must float in seawater so that they
can be observed by helicopter. Please submit correspondence on company
letterhead along with any other descriptive information which includes:
1) Point of Contact; 2) Description; 3) estimated price ranges; 4)
packaging options; 5) amount of time required from order placement to
delivery. The USCG R&DC will not make any awards on the basis of this
request for information. This is not a request for proposal, but for
