The ACC Contracting Squadron intends to award a purchase order, under other than full and open competition to Cavalier Communications, Inc. to provide technical support for the Multifunctional Secure Gateway (MSG) Lite Software. Support shall consist of providing telephone assistance to resolve software problems/anomalies and providing software version updates as they occur. This support is required for 16 CONUS Air Combat Command sites for a period of 12 months. MSG Lite is a proprietary software product of Cavalier Communications Inc., and technical support is unavailable from any other source. The Air Force intends to conduct this procurement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This proposed procurement is for supplies and services for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source. Interested parties may respond in writing to the ACC Contracting Squadron. Responsesmust be received not later than 20 Nov 98. Responses must include written documentation providing conclusive evidence that the offeror is able to provide the described technical support. Responses shall be submitted in sufficient detail to enable accomplishment of a thorough technical evaluation. All responses submitted in accordance with the instructions provided herein will be evaluated by the Contracting Officer on the basis of the information submitted. Responses will be accepted at the mail address identified herein and by facsimile machine at (757) 764-9773 (Attn: N. Ball/D. Fortune). All responsible sources may submit a response that shall be considered by the agency. If no responses are received, or all responses are found to be technically unacceptable, the procurement will be proceed under other than full and open competition as described herein.
