99 -- 5-METER DOQ PANCHROMATIC SATELLITE IMAGERY POC Point of Contact -- Contact, Linda Steel, Purchasing Agent, Wanda Purdy, Contracting Officer This requirement is being procured in accordance with FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and an award will be made in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service intends to award a purchase order to Space Imaging of Lanham, MD who is the exclusive distributor for India satellite data to U.S. Federal Agencies. The acquisition request is for the purchase of 1998, 5-meter DOQ Panchromatic Satellite Imagery. The imagery will be used to assist impacts associated with forestry activities in Tennessee and Kentucky, perform threat analysis for several federally listed species, and assist in the routine assessment of permit and project activities. The imagery is orthorectified by U.S. Geological Survey quadrangle and will be incorporated into our GIS and available for staff biologist. The requested resolution of 5 meters is necessary to actually distinguish between various stages of vegetation succession as well as vegetative types which is imperative in the assessment of forestry activities.
