B -- NOTICE OF SOLE SOURCE PROCUREMENT SOL 14-35-0001-30755 POC J. Callas, (703)787-1354 Notice of intent to award a sole source contract. This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. See note number 22. The Minerals Management Service (MMS) intends to add additional scope to an already existing contract with Dames and Moore Group (D&M), 7115 Amigo Street, Suite 110, Las Vegas, NV 89119. This effort is to complete the California Offshore Oil and Gas Energy Resources study under contract 14-35-0001-30755. The additional effort consists of the following: 1) increasing response time comment and document reissue; 2) to attend a meeting requested by industry members; 3) revise scenario definitions and add new scenarios; 4) additional steering committee meetings; 5) additional public workshops; 6) public information summaries; and 7) schedule extension. D&M was competitively chosen as the successful offeror of this effort in February 1995. Since that time D&M has obtained the specialized, expertise and experience with the effort described under this contract thatmake them uniquely qualified to provide these services. No other contractor can perform this effort cost-effectively. Therefore, no other firm has the requisite knowledge to meet the above criteria. See Note 22. Posted 11/10/98 (W-SN270116). (0314)
