POC Joan Willard 202 231 2824 The Virginia Contracting Activity, on
behalf of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) is seeking sources
capable of providing a hybrid minilab that can best meet the following
requirements: (1) Accepts digital files in Tiff and JPEG formats from
an ATM network and PCMCIA cards (from digital cameras). (2) Accepts
photographic b/w and color film in sizes ranging from APS to 120. If
input method is via scanning, as oposed to an optical path, the
scanning speeds must be similar to optical printing speeds. (3) Ability
to adjust file sizes to maximum print resolution. (4) Ability to print
to photographic paper in sizes of 3.5" x 5," 5"x 7," 8"x10," and
11"x14" with resolution of digital images to be 300DPI/PPI or higher
(or if other media, must be comparable in price to photographic media).
(5) Ability to crop all images and to add borders to images. (6)
Ability to correct for subject failure and film types prior to
exposure. (7) Ability to print unattended up to 200 digital files at up
to 100 prints per file. (8) Ability to produce 5" x 7" prints from a
single 35mm negative or single Tiff file quickly. (9) Ability to
annotate hardcopy (on the fly) with variable density text (up to 2
lines of text with up to 30 characters/line) in lower 1/2 inch print
border of 5" x 7" landscape prints (other print sizes desirable). (10)
Designed with pollution reducing technology for all waste products.
(11) Supplied with complete yearly PM plan and on-site repair contract
to include all parts and labor. (12) Ability to automatically print
digital file names in small human readable type on the reverse side of
the hardcopy. Interested firms are invited to submit in writing their
responses to this sources sought to the Defense Intelligence Agency,
Attn: DAP-2/Joan Willard, Bldg 6000, Bolling AFB, Washington, DC
20340-5100. Respondents should submit their information packages to
include brochures, drawing, and other substantive information
demonstrating the contractor's ability to provide the aforementioned
requirements. This is not a request for a proposal nor does the
Government intend to pay for any information solicited. Responses must
refer to this synopsis on both mailing envelopes and enclosures.
Acknowledgement of receipt will not be made, nor will telephone
inquiries be honored. The information received under this announcement
will not be used to qualify any source. It is for planning purposes
