Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division (NAWCAD), Patuxent River, MD is conducting a market survey for drysuit/anti-exposure suit designers and producers. This request is for INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. The purpose of this survey is to ascertain the status of drysuit/anti-exposure suit technology. The technical point of contact for this announcement is Jocelyn Alston, Code 4612, (301)342-8458. All responses to this request will be considered. The following information has been determined to be critical to your organization's response: 1) description and photograph of the drysuit, 2) description of the materials and material performance data, 3) sizing information for male and female users, 4) maintainability/repairability of the suit and seals, 5) reliability data, 6) data on use of the suit by rescue swimmers/divers, and 7) system cost for 1000 units. This announcement is to solicit sources; therefore, potential contractors who have the capability and are interested in responding to this announcement shall submit responses by 15 Dec 1998 to the above listed name and address. Interested firms should indicate whether they are small, small disadvantaged, 8A, or large businesses. Any procurement resulting from this synopsis will be separately published in the CBD.
