The National Park Service, Golden Gate National Recreation Area, San Francisco, Ca on behalf of the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park is soliciting quotations on a full and open competitive basis from qualified organizations to enter into a firm fixed price contract to drydock the Historic Scow Schooner Alma; make repairs to equipment; and apply paint to the underwater hull and topside surfaces. The contractor shall provide a dry dock or marine railway which is safe to handle the vessel's displacement and its flat bottom wooden hull form. The Schooner Alma has the following characteristics: length overall: 80 ft.; length on deck: 58 ft.; maximum beam: 22 ft. 6 in.; draft (centerboard up): 04.3; gross tonnage: 46 tons; construction: Douglas Fir. The hull will need cleaning, repairs, preparation and coatings applied. The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, blocking, staging and tools and any necessary temporary support for structures or equipment that may be affected by the requirements of the specifications and shall perform in conformance with environmental and safety laws or regulations unless otherwise stipulated.
