Air Base Systems Contracting Office (AAC/WMOK), is interested in an
All-Purpose Remote Transport System (ARTS) to support Explosive
Ordnance Disposal (EOD) requirements for the Air Base Systems Office
(AAC/WMO), at Eglin AFB FL. We are seeking a commercial, remotely
controlled, medium size (less than 10,000 pounds), all-terrain
transport system capable of carrying and employing various Explosive
Ordnance Disposal (EOD) attachments and tools. We are performing a
market survey to identify sources interested in providing a commercial
solution. The latest version of the System Requirements Document, and
other draft documents to be included in the RFP can be found on the
Eglin Contracting Internet site at:
<http://eglinpk.eglin.af.mil/OPS/ARTS.htm&gt;. Funds have been
appropriated to purchase approximately 21 units over a 4-year period.
No contract will be awarded from this notice. Current schedule
milestones include a Request for Proposals (RFP) release no earlier
than January1999, a spring 1999 Source Selection, and a summer 1999
contract award. First deliveries will be expected within 90 days of
contract award. It is anticipated that existing technologies and
products can satisfy the above requirements. Sources are invited to
provide technical information, technical data/fact sheets, test data,
maintenance data, or any information on existing products that would
fulfill the requirement. Respondents are requested to provide: Name of
point of contact with address, phone number, fax number, and e-mail or
internet address; current product capability; and a description of
their customer base. This information should be received within 30 days
of the publication of this notice. All timely information received will
be considered. All respondents should specify if they are considered a
large business concern, small business concern, small disadvantaged
business concern, 8(a) concern, or women owned business concern.
