66 -- ACOUSTIC DOPPLER CURRENT PROFILER SOL NRMGF000920048 DUE 121798 POC Sharon Scrutchfield 816-426-7267 ext. 231 The U.S. Department of Commerce, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), intends to contract with R. D. Instruments of San Diego, California for one Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP). The unique features that the ADCP must have are: (1) 29 degree beam angle which permits sampling of 94 % of the water column, (2) 1 to 128 depth cells, 1m to 8m cell size, and (3) mooring frame with syntactic foam buoy for mooring the ADCP. These items will be required for the ADCP: an external battery case and cable; 10 MB memory card; and 610MM syntactic buoy with stainless long mooring frame ( for mounting the external battery case). The proposed contract action is for the ADCP, external battery case and cable and 610 MM syntactic buoy w/ stainless long mooring frame for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source, R. D. Instruments, under the authority of 41USC 253(c)(1). This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties are encouraged to respond to this announcement within 15 days of its publication and shall submit in writing, it's name, address, point of contact, telephone number, business size and a brief statement regarding it's capability to provide the specified ADCP and the names, telephone numbers, and points of contact for businesses or other Government agencies to which it had previously provided similar instruments. No response will be provided to those inquiries which fail to provide the information requested. This information shall be submitted to the address stated herein or may be faxed to 816-426-7530. This is not a request for proposals and there is no Request for Quotation available at this time. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract is solely within the discretion of the Government.
