Pettis Memorial VAMC, Loma Linda, CA, intends to negotiate a commercial (FAR Part 12) sole source contract to Paging Network of San Diego, for leasing pagers, for the period from January 1, 1999 through December 31, 1999 with 2 years option, under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. A justification for other than full and open competition is being prepared in support of this acquisition. Support equipment for these pagers must be compatible with the system at Loma Linda University Medical Center due to sharing of resources at the 2 medical facilities. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 97-04. Interested companies may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit a proposal. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. The proposed contract action is for supplies/services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source. All proposals must be received NLT 12-17-98, 4:00PM, PDT, for consideration by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
