The requirement includes: loading (charging) of demineralizers with resin(s) and/or activated charcoal; recharging demineralizers with new resin(s) and/or charcoal; dewatering spent resin and/or charcoal in dewaterable poly hics; incineration of spent resin and/or charcoal; drying of spent resin and/or charcoal and using as overfill in burial containers; quantum catalytic extraction of spent resin and/or charcoal; melting and controlled reuse of radioactive and radioactively contaminated scrap metals; transportation of waste to processing facility; transportation of processed waste to a licensed low-level radwaste burial site per 49CFR and site regulation; disposal of processed waste at burial site; transportation of charged demineralizers from processing facility to NNSY; leasing of strong tight cargo containers meeting 49CFR requirementsfor shipping of LSA radioactive materials from NNSY to processing facility and charged contaminated demineralizers from processing facility to NNSY; providing records, reports, and date to monitor contractor compliances. The period of performance will be for 12 months. Actual dates will be set forth in the solicitation when issued.
