A -- APPLIED TECHNOLOGY INITIATIVES TECHNICAL AND ENGINEERING SUPPORT SOL DAAH01-98-R-R020 POC Monica Williams, Contract Specialist, 256-876-8341, Judy Lundy, Contracting Officer, 256-876-1470 This synopsis announces a DRAFT Request for Proposal for technical and engineering support to the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command, Applied Technology Initiatives (ATI) Directorate for Statement of Work (SOW) entitled "Applied Technology Initiative Technical and Engineering Support." The SOW provides technical and engineering support in performance of the Directorate's Mission to design, integrate and test advanced technology weapon systems and systems of systems dedicated to increasing the power projection capabilities of Army forces by decreased target-acquisition and engagement timelines, increased lethality of systems, increased survivability of systems and solders and increased control of tempo of battle. The contractor shall be required to perform a major portion of this effort on-site (Redstone Arsenal, AL). The SIC Code for this acquisition is 8731. This acquisition will be solicited utilizing full and open competitive procedures. The Government intends to award up to 2 contracts as a result of this solicitation. The first contract award is to be made to the best value proposal without regard to status and the second contract award is to be made to the best value proposed submitted by a small business. The Government reserves the right to make less than 2 awards. Cost-Plus-Fixed-Fee-Level-Of-Effort contracts are anticipated as a result of this solicitation. The contracts will be made for a term of the base year and four option years (total effort 60-months). The basic level-of-effort will be determined at time of award. Option I -- Year I, level-of-effort will consist of 393,500 manhours. Option I -- Year II, level of effort will consist of 206,900 manhours. Option III -- Year III, level-of-effort will consist of 206,900 manhours. Option IV -- Year IV, level-of-effort will consist of 206,900 manhours. Option V -- Year V, level-of-effort will consist of 312,550 manhours.
