The project consists of the construction of not less than 80 new family housing units, demolition of at least 38 existing family housing units, construction of two new Community Centers, and the design services associated with these items. The new family housing units will be constructed at two separate sites, 42 of the units will be built at the Jackson Circle Housing Area and the remaining 38 units will be built in the Harrison Villa Housing Area. Both sites are on Ft Lee, Virginia. New units will include all necessary supporting utility work and site development work. Demolition of the existing units will include removal of the existing units in their entirety, regrading of the site after the demolition is complete, and removal of all demolition and debris off-post. During the demolition activities the contractor will encounter lead paint, asbestos, and chlordane. The new Community Centers, one 5,200 SF and one 3,500 SF will be located in the Harrison Villa Housing Area and the Jackson Circle Housing Area respectively. These Community Centers will include associated site work, parking lots, and pedestrians as well as vehicle access; construction of the facility itself; and the associated design services. Community Center design complements the Housing Area in which it is located. The magnitude of construction is estimated to be between $11,500,000.00 and $12,000,000.00.
