466-8492 The Naval Aviation Depot located at the Marine Corps Air
Station, Cherry Point, NC has submitted a procurement request for the
necessary labor, parts, materials, travel, equipment, and supervision
required to refurbish a Weldon Grinder. Work shall be completed within
30 days after receipt of order. The materials to be furnished by the
Contractor shall be new, of proven commercial design, fabricated, and
assembled using materials free from visible, and latent defects,
adequate for the purpose intended, and complete with all equipment and
accessories. Work to consist of complete (turn key) job for the
refurbish of the Weldon Grinder. Currently the Grinder is worn beyond
repair, will not hold tolerances to grind shafts on 95-2 turbine wheel.
Z axis has about .010 groove where bearing runs. X axis will move away
from grinding wheel .0015. Shafts tolerances are .0002 +-0. Notes
0001, 022, and 026 apply. The Government intends to award on a Sole
Source basis to Weldon Machine Tool, Inc. However, all responsible
sources may submit a quotation which shall be considered by this
agency. As of 1 Oct 1997, all Contractors must be registered in the
Central Registration (CCR) Database as a condition of contract award.
