The work consists of maintenance dredging of the Tenn-Tom Waterway and Bendways, Black Warrior-Tombigbee River System and the Alabama River. The principal location of work is expected to be the Tenn-Tom Waterway (TTW), AL and MS. This work will require dredging to depths of 12 feet or greater over varying channel widths. The dredge material will have to be transported at distances up to 11,000 feet from the dredging site at lifts as high as 70 feet. This contract will require a 20, 22, or 24-inch dredge with respective minimum horsepower requirements of 2500, 2600, and 2700. These requirements are due to long line lengths and high lifts that exists at various locations on the river system. Bid documents are available on or about 21 January 1999. Estimated cost of work is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. Requests for plans and specifications shall indicate in writing whether firm will bid as a prime contractor or a subcontractor.
