combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in
accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6 and 13.5, as supplemented
with additional information included in this notice. This announcement
constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and
a written solicitation will not be issued. The only approved source for
this solicitation is Allison Engine Co, Indianapolis In 46206 FSCM:
63005, solicitation FD2050-99-Q-46022 is issued as a request for
quotation (RFQ). Contract line item 0001 is for 11 EA 3rd Stage Wheel,
NSN: 2840-00-012-7065RW P/N: 6845593 Size/Demeinsions: 14 x 12 x 5
inches. Form/Fit/Function: Wheel has machined shoulder near the inner
dimeter. This shoulder has curvic splines cut in them for mounting
adjacent wheels to each other. Cooling Air Passage is provided in the
rear shoulder of the 3rd Stage Wheel. The outer rims of the wheel are
broached for mounting 3rd Stage Turbine Blade. There are 89 third Stage
Turbine Blades installed on 3rd Stage Turbine Wheel. Cover plate seals
are used on the front and rear sides of the wheel to retain first
stage turine blades in the wheel. Predominant material: steel.
Delivery: Urgent. Jan 99 to Kelly AFB TX. Inspection and Acceptance at
Origin. Offers for this solicitation will be accepted via facsimile or
email until 12 noon on 11 Jan 1999. All potential offerors should
contact the buyer/PCO identified in this notice for additional
information and/or to communicate concerns, if any, concerning this
acquisition. If your concerns are not satisfied by the contracting
officer, an Ombudsman has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors
or potential offerors during the proposal development phase of an
acquisition. The Ombudsman does not diminish the authority of the
program director or Contracting Officer, but communicates Contractor
concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate
Government personnel. When requested, the Ombudsman shall maintain
strict confidentially as to the source of the concern. The Ombudsman
does not participate in the evaluation of proposals or in the source
