combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in
accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6 and 13.5, as supplemented
with additional information included in this notice. This announcement
constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and
a written solicitation will not be issued. The only approved source for
this solicitation is Allison Engine Co, Indianapolis In 46206 FSCM:
63005, solicitation FD2050-99-Q-46018 is issued as a request for
quotation (RFQ). Contract line item 0001 is for 152 EA Turbine Inlet
Case, NSN: 2840-00-225-0953RW P/N: 6847349 Size/Demeinsions: 24 x 14 x
6 inches. Form/Fit/Function: The sturctual of the turbine inlet casing
are as follows: six hollow, supporting radial struts interconnect the
outer and inner shells. The outer shell mount to the outer combustion
casing, and the inner shell mounts to the combustion inner csing and
inner casing liner. Six first stage vane assemblies, contained within
the turbine inlet casing, provide the stator for the first stage of the
turbine. Predominant material: steel. Delivery: Urgent. 99 May to Kelly
AFB TX.Inspection and Acceptance at Origin. Offers for this
solicitation will be accepted via facsimile or email until 12 noon on
11 Jan 1999. All potential offerors should contact the buyer/PCO
identified in this notice for additional information and/or to
communicate concerns, if any, concerning this acquisition. If your
concerns are not satisfied by the contracting officer, an Ombudsman has
been appointed to hear concerns from offerors or potential offerors
during the proposal development phase of an acquisition. The Ombudsman
does not diminish the authority of the program director or Contracting
Officer, but communicates Contractor concerns, issues, disagreements,
and recommendations to the appropriate Government personnel. When
requested, the Ombudsman shall maintain strict confidentially as to the
source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not participate in the
evaluation of proposals or in the source selection process. Interested
