NASA/GSFC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ)546-16624-709 for 50 each of Item 1: Pressure Cartridge 3702-1 or equivalent, 50 each of Item 2: Guillotine Cutter 5801-1 or equivalent, 50 each of Item 3: Pressure Cartridge 6104-1 or equivalent, and 50 each of Item 4: Pressure Cartridge 6201-1 or equivalent. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from Quantic Industries, 2751 San Juan Road, Hollister, CA 95023. Quantic Industries is the sole manufacturer of these devices and drawings and specifications are not available as Quantic Industries owns the drawings and has proprietary rights to the specifications required to fabricate these devices. Therefore, it is recommended equipment be purchased only from Quantic Industries. Delivery is requested on or before April 1, 1999. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested firms have 15 days from the publication of this synopsis to submit in writing to the identified point of contact, their qualifications/capabilities. Such qualifications/capabilities will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Responses received after the 15 days or without the required information will be considered nonresponsive to the synopsis and will not be considered. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed effort on a full and open competitive basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
