The project consists of various alterations to the POL Storage Facility of the Minnesota Air National Guard Base, Duluth International Airport, Minnesota. POL is the military acronym for "Petroleum, Oils, and Lubricants." The work is necessary to bring the facility into compliance with operational, safety, and environmental requirements. Specific elements of the project are: (1) Repair (by replacement) of facility access roads; (2) Repair of security fencing; (3) Paint two 10,000 bbl jet-fuel storage tanks, to include floating roofs and above-ground piping; (4) Replace overhead electrical distribution system with underground system; (5) Upgrade area lighting. The estimated price range of the proposed contract is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. A firm fixed-price construction contract is contemplated.
