The National Imagery and Mapping Agency (NIMA) intends to negotiate a contract on a sole source basis with VTEL Corporation, King of Prussia, PA for a 12-month board exchange maintenance program. This maintenance will provide maintenance for a number of NIMA videoconferenceing systems to include: Radiance systems, Rembrandt II, Gallery and MCU2M located at various NIMA sites. The Government intends to award a contract to include 1 base year consisting of 12 months plus one option year also consisting of 12 months. Base year and option year prices will be evaluated as part of the award determination. VTEL is the only known supplier of the circuit board exchange maintenance. The estimated period of performance is 01 March 1999 through 29 February 2000. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negoiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within 15 days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Goverment not to compete this proposed contract based upon reponses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government .
