Corps of Engineers requests quotations for Ambulance Services at
England AFB, Alexandria, Louisiana (Rapides Parish). Project
Description: Chemical Agent Identification Sets (CAIS) are suspected to
exist on the property. The suspected CAIS contain chemical warfare
materiel (CWM) from WWII training exercises. An existing berm will be
removed, a geophysical survey of the site will be performed, and the
site will be excavated to remove any buried CAIS. Responsibilities:
Provide on-site an advanced life-support ambulance and 2 emergency
medical technicians to transport decontaminated casualties to Rapides
Regional Medical Center. Ambulance service must be LaDOTD approved and
must have an operating permit from Rapides Parish. EMT's will be
required to attend an 8-hour class on the treatment of CWM casualties,
scheduled for April 6,7, or 8, 1999. Start and Duration: Work will
begin on or about May 31, 1999 and is scheduled for 13 weeks. The
contractor will not exceed 650 hours of field support.All responsible
